Requirements:
- Experience caring for and working hands-on with dogs and cats
- Able to work independently and efficiently
- Strong interpersonal skills, in both a team setting and customer interactions
- Able to react calmly in high-pressure situations and make good judgements
- Patience and empathy for concerned owners and nervous pets
- Comfortable working with unknown animals
- Must be able to read & write in English
- Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift heavy objects and handle large dog breeds
- Must have reliable transportation
- Qualified applicants will be expected to interview for the job, and undergo a routine background check and drug test.
Preferred, but not Required:
- Experience volunteering or working in the animal care industry
- Experience in a leadership position managing small groups of people
- Basic smartphone & computer knowledge
- High school degree or GED
Our Guest Services Team is Responsible for:
- Feeding, watering & administering medications
- CLEANING! There is a lot of cleaning. Cleaning pet suites, floors, indoor & outdoor play areas, lobby, etc.
- Walking dogs to and from kennels and play spaces
- Supervising dogs during group play
- Taking dogs on a nature hike on the property
- Playing and cuddling with dogs & cats one-on-one
- Bathing dogs
- Taking reservations over the phone or in person
- Assisting owners/pets through the check-in/check-out process
- Providing any additional pet care amenities purchased by customers
- Assisting customers with retail purchases
The Weekend Supervisor is Additionally Responsible for:
- Ensuring weekend shifts go smoothly
- Guiding team members in daily tasks
- Overseeing the phone and front desk
- Assisting with training new employees
Shifts:
- This position will be about 34-40 hours a week in busier months (April-Dec.), and may drop to about 30 hours a week in slower months (Jan.-March). Longer shifts will be on Saturdays and Sundays with shorter shifts on other days of the week depending on who we hire. We can be flexible on weekday shifts! Some availability during busy holidays is expected as well.
